Our Second Lecture in a Series to Be Offered this Fall and Winter!


 

The Chicagoland Digital Photography (CDP) Meetup Group is excited and proud to announce the second session this new lecture series. Each session will be led by an industry professional who is capable of answering the many questions you may have.

In this lecture, local CPA Anne Marie Craighead will discuss the various issues and questions that photographers encounter when setting up themselves up as a small business.

Topics will include:

  • What's the difference between limited liability, incorporation, sole proprietor? How do I determine what I need?
  • Do I need the FEIN?
  • What forms do I need in Illinois to start up?
  • Which county's sales tax do I use - where I am registered or where the sale occurs (for example, as an artist, I reside in unincorporated DuPage county where the sales tax is 6.75% but may sell a piece at an art show in Chicago at 10% - which do I charge?)
  • If I have a partner, can we still set up as a sole proprietor
  • How do I budget for my business?
  • And more.

This evening's lecture is will be held at ProGear.We're excited to announce that ProGear will be our regular meeting spot for these lectures and many new classes. There is plenty of free parking.
